Our top New Bern vacation rental tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to pick the best rental home in Emerald Isle:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Home with golf cart, community pool, easy access,Spinnakers Reach community has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If not, call the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
