Walk to the riverfront, Tryon Palace and historic downtown and its many eateries, bars, stores, and galleries. Unwind on the screen porch. Cruise or kayak the Neuse and Trent Rivers. Take a short 45-min. drive to Beaufort, Oriental, and the handsome Crystal Coast beaches.

Tricks and tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To get the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting and booking the perfectrental home:
- First, have your group choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Circa 1810 Home - Downtown New Bern Historic District - 2 BRs with King Beds has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
