Julie:
"This was a ideal home. Great location. Walking distance to the beach. Entirely supplied with so many extras from toiletries, and family games, to cleaning supplies. The beds were so cozy. Clean. And when we needed to communicate with the host, he was readily available for us every time. The photos in the listing are exactly what you get. Recommend reservations, at “Amos Mosquito” right down the street for a meal. And the restaurant, “Southern Salt” was another favorite we discovered. Wonderful stay. Would recommend."

Anna:
"The home was just as described! Very well-outfitted, clean, great location! Michael was a great communicator. And we literally had no issues! I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Atlantic Beach! Spectacular, clean, ideal for our family gathering!"

Brittany:
"Our stay at this beach home was amazing! We adored the location, furnishings, and amenities. The home was outfitted with everything we needed, from beach toys and chairs to a high chair, bug spray, kitchen essentials, and everything in between. Michael was marvelous at communicating with us, as well!"

"Our family loves Atlantic Beach. We had been here before and wanted to bring more family down to share the phenomenal experience. We needed a home big enough and comfortable for 10 people. Tricks and tips for getting the perfect New Bern vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • To find the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your group decide on the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Not Your Typical Beach Rental Fully Stocked House has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
