Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:
When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to book:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the New Bern area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply New Bern area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect New Bern rental:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. WEEKLY PRICE DROP! SUMMER SPECIAL THROUGH AUGUST 23RD! LOTS OF AMENTITIES has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
- If there's a specific New Bern beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
