Strategies to get the perfect New Bern vacation property experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking the best New Bern vacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. OCEAN FRONT UNIT WITH GREAT OCEAN VIEW! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a certain New Bern destination you love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
