Tricks and tips to get the best New Bern rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in the New Bern area. To get the best value, shift your family's New Bern vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Selecting the best rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Direct oceanfront\/ A Place at the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a specific New Bern beach you love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. text the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
