How to get the best New Bern rental experience:
Get the best value:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your New Bern vacation home in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best rental home in Atlantic Beach:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Complex with 2 bedrooms and Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
