Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Woosaah Life - Remodeled 2023-2 King EnSuites,Dog Friendly,Pvt Beach Parking has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
