Tips to get the perfect New Bern rental home experience:

When to visit Pine Knoll Shores & When to book:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Escape - Oceanfront House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If not, email the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual New Bern destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
