Our top Rental home booking tips:

Get the best value:

  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. Book your New Bern rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the best vacation rental in the New Bern area:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Park Place, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 10 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your family.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
