Our top Rental home booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your New Bern vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the right New Bern vacation home:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Park Place, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 10 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
