Booking the best vacation home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

How to select the best rental in the New Bern area:

  • First and foremost, have your group select date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. RARE \"DOUBLE UNIT\" BEAUTIFUL Deluxe Studio Condo just steps to the ocean! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.

Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
