Finding the best New Bern rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local New Bern area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose and book your prefect New Bern rental:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Reel Paradise is a waterfront Condo with a deep water boat slip has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
