Tips and Tricks to get the perfect New Bern rental home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite New Bern restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Rita's Restful Oceanview has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
