Finding the best vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a New Bern rental home:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply New Bern area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick the perfectrental home:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sandtoesha West, Ocean and Sound Views, in Emerald Isle, close to everything! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular New Bern destination you are crazy about, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
