Emerald Isle vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the best vacation home in Emerald Isle:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Sandtoesha West, Ocean and Sound Views, in Emerald Isle, close to everything! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
