Our top Rental home tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Beaufort. To book the largest rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Resort community townhome with on-site pool, gym, & day dock has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
