New Bern vacation rental booking tips:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the perfect rental in Beaufort:

  • Select vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Sea Serenity - the best views in the coastal Carolinas @ Old Towne Yacht Club has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a certain New Bern attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
