Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Beaufort. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best vacation rental in Beaufort:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Sea Serenity - the best views in the coastal Carolinas @ Old Towne Yacht Club has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
During your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
