Booking the best New Bern rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Second row, ocean view duplex w\/ easy beach access has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
