Getting the best New Bern rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the bestrental home:

  • To start, have your family decide on the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Newly renovated soundview condo with private balcony shared pool & tennis court has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
