Vacation rental booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in the New Bern area. Book your New Bern rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best vacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Stunning Ocean Front Views-Pet Friendly-Clean! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
