Strategies to get the perfect New Bern vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect New Bern rental home:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Dancing Barefoot- Cozy Beach Getaway- 4th Row House with Ocean View has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
