Tips to get the best Indian Beach vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the perfect New Bern rental home:

  • Select your dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Summer Winds 403: Oceanfront 2BR 2BA, Complex Amenities! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
