Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect New Bern rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in New Bern. To get the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and picking the bestvacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. The Hideaway Suite** has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
