How to book the best rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular New Bern attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Filter your search:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Captain's Quarters East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If not, email the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
