Only six mins. to historic downtown New Bern. The Sanderling is a tiny cabin ideal for a couple or a family of 3 or 4. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A TINY CABIN WITH SLEEPING LOFTS. YOU MUST CLIMB A LADDER TO GET IN THE LOFTS. One Queen bed loft, one twin bed loft and one twin bed in living area. Full attached bath. The cabin is located on a pine grove lot with access to a SHARED private dock on deep water Brices Creek. Brices Creek flows into the Trent and Neuse Rivers and then out to the Atlantic Ocean. You are encouraged to use one of our kayaks to appreciate the water. Other activities include swimming, fishing, crabbing & boating. Don't miss a chance to prepare a s'more over our sizable fire pit.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE KING BED AND TWIN BED ARE IN LOFTS THAT REQUIRE RENTERS TO CLIMB LADDERS TO ACCESS THESE BEDS. THE LADDERS MAY BE DIFFICULT TO NEGOTIATE FOR OLDER ADULTS, PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND SMALL CHILDREN. Also, there are a few other rental units close by that may wish to use the fire pit and SHARED private dock. Please be respectful of other renters so everybody may savor their stay. Overall I believe you will find the property to be very peaceful.

Our top New Bern vacation rental home tips:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in New Bern. To get the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply New Bern area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefect New Bern rental:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. The Sanderling Tiny Cabin Water Access\/Private Shared dock has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
