How to get the best New Bern rental experience:
When to visit Emerald Isle & When to reserve a rental home:
- Booking in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectvacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Sound Of The Sea North 212, Almost Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
