How to book the best vacation property experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking the right New Bern rental home:
- First, have your family decide on dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. UPDATED KITCHEN - AMAZING VIEWS has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
