Tips for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies supply New Bern area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental home in the New Bern area:
- First, have your group choose dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. 2-story dog & snowbird-friendly home with sound views, balconies, deck, & W\/D has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If not, call the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual New Bern destination you long to visit, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Advice for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
