Beaufort vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Beaufort. To book the largest rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular New Bern attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book your prefect New Bern rental home:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. A Block from the Dock in Historic Beaufort has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
