How to find the best New Bern rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. Book your New Bern vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental:

- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Sleeps 5! Cozy Getaway Near Beach & Dining – Your Perfect Escape Awaits! has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve the property. - If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
