Tips and Tricks to get the optimal New Bern vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a New Bern rental home & When to go:
- To find the largest rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect New Bern vacation home:
- To start, have your family decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. AMAZING EMERALD ISLE OCEANFRONT SLEEPS 18 NEAR DINING SHOPPING AQUARIUM! has 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If there's an individual New Bern beach you simply love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
