Strategies to get the best rental home experience:
When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a Atlantic Beach rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Pet Friendly Oceanside Townhome in Atlantic Beach, NC-Barefoot Ventures has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
