Booking the best rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local New Bern area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental home:

  • Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. UPDATED Sea-renity WEST near boat ramp has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular New Bern beach you love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
