Tricks and tips to get the optimal New Bern vacation rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your New Bern rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Club H203 - 2BR 2BA Almost Oceanfront Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If there's a certain New Bern beach you long to visit, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
