Booking the best Atlantic Beach rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. “Castaways\" Atlantic Beach Family Fun Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- If there's an individual New Bern beach you long to visit, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
