Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Atlantic Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserve your New Bern rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
How to pick the perfect vacation home:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. “Castaways\" Atlantic Beach Family Fun Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
