Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the New Bern area. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular New Bern attractions and restaurants.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose and book your New Bern vacation home:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Flamingo Point - Relax as if you were in your own Home has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
