Finding the best rental home experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the New Bern area. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular New Bern attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Great family amenities !! Pools, Putt Putt, Shuffleboard and the Beach !! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific New Bern attraction you long to visit, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
