Tips and Tricks to get the best Emerald Isle vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning and picking the right New Bern vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Pebble Beach G-212, Oceanside Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
