Booking the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local New Bern area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautiful 5 bedrooms, 5.5 baths on sound and walking distance to beach and shops has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
