Tips to get the perfect Atlantic Beach rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Booking your New Bern vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect rental home in the New Bern area:

  • Select vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Searenity, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
