Tips and Tricks to get the optimal New Bern rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Summer time is high season in the New Bern area. To find the best value, shift your family's New Bern vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the perfect rental home in Beaufort:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Fantastic Views! Waterfront w\/Pool, Jacuzzi, Gym, & Steps to the Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Contact the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
