Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation property experience:

Find your best deal:

  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Reserve your New Bern vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Finding the best rental in Emerald Isle:

  • Select dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront Oasis w\/double covered porch 4 BR\/2BA - updated Emerald Isle classic! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • If there's an individual New Bern beach you long to visit, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

Have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
