Tips and Tricks to get the perfect New Bern vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. NEW RENTAL - Sound & Ocean View Duplex - 2 Blocks from Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If there's an individual New Bern beach you love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
