Our top Emerald Isle rental home tips:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, try shifting your family's New Bern vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick yourvacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. New Condo, Pool View, Walk to Beach, Arcade! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
