Finding the best Emerald Isle rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Reserve your New Bern rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and picking yourvacation home:
- To start, have your group decide on date ranges and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Newly remodeled second floor condo at Pebble Beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
- If there's an individual New Bern attraction you simply love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
