Strategies to get the perfect New Bern vacation property experience:
When to reserve a New Bern rental home & When to go:
- Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the New Bern area:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. The Emerald Cottage - renovated 1950s beach cottage one block to beach , hot tub has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. message the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
