Finding the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at New Bern restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Sutton Cottage-Ocean Front Home has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your trip.
- If there's a specific New Bern attraction you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
