Finding the best New Bern vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Palm Cottage I At The Grove, Oceanfront House in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. message the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
