Tips to get the best New Bern rental experience:
When to reserve a New Bern rental home & When to go:
- Summer is high season in Beaufort. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to pick the best rental home in the New Bern area:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Sea Glass- Walking Distance to Front Street and it's Pet Friendly! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
