Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. Booking your New Bern vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. SeaSpray 250, Oceanview Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • If there's a specific New Bern destination you long to visit, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
