Finding the best New Bern rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local New Bern area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and choosing your prefect New Bern rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Spectacular Direct Oceanfront 2BR Condo in Emerald Isle NC Ocean Reef 7B1 has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
